Registered Nurse(Mental Health-SATP)

This full-time nursing position will function within the Substance Abuse Treatment Program (SATP) to assist in the delivery of care for Veterans. The duties for this position are as follows:
Determine the appropriate level of care for treatment and the ability to understand the variety of clinical options available within SATP, the medical center, and the local community. Complete structured diagnostic and clinical assessments for patients. This requires knowledge of medical terminology, diagnostic categories, and chart review. Random Call backs for vets prescribed methadone and buprenorphine. Providers to provide active list Maintain par level (5) for on Demand medication in rooms stocked with appropriate medications (e.g., Vivitrol). Administer naloxone challenges when appropriate Monitor/Maintain/Stock medication room in clinic (e.g., ATL Ground Fl, FTM 2nd Fl, OAK CBOC). Provide patient education in areas such as substance misuse, depression and anxiety and general health education to Veterans and applicable family members with an emphasis on health promotion and functional restoration (e.g. Naloxone Rescue Kits). Cross training within Mental Health Services. Perform other duties as assigned Occasional travel may be required Work Schedule:

Minimum of 2 years Mental Health or Substance Abuse Certification in Psychiatric MH or CARN Certification ability to use VA computer systems to include CPRS, Excel and Vista-based clinical informatics. Other qualifications include a demonstrated ability in the areas of interpersonal effectiveness, critical thinking knowledge of psychosocial assessments and clinical management of patients; knowledge of current treatment for Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and the primary symptoms of common psychiatric disorders such as Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder(PTSD), an Panic Disorders; To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/18/2020. Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant:
The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. OR The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. Students should submit the certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the VA along with a copy of the MSN transcript. (Reference VA Handbook 5005, Appendix G6) OR In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of a current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement for graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia. Grade Determinations:
The following criteria must be met in determining the grade assignment of candidates, and if appropriate, the level within a grade:
Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse I Level II - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 1 year of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelor's degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience; OR a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) with no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse I Level III - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse II - A BSN with approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing or related field with a BSN and approximately 1-2 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree in nursing or meets basic requirements for appointment and has doctoral degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse III - Master's degree in nursing or related field with BSN and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree. Reference:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
